The Perm regional government in the West Urals is committed to supporting local legal entities developing innovation projects in agriculture, the Alliance-Media national business partnership website .

The region reportedly has plans to back agricultural projects in new technology development, energy saving, alternative energy production, and biotechnology (including waste processing).

An estimated $763,000 will be spent on innovation support in the region by the end of this year, the source said. An innovative agricultural producer may expect to have up to 50% of its innovation project spending reimbursed (but not more than $300,000 per company).

“Companies that employ scientific researchers developing an innovation project are eligible for reimbursement of their payroll costs,” regional officials told Alliance-Media.

One of the key eligibility criteria is the scalability and replicability of an innovation project for use in other regional companies, as well as across Russia.
